Poutūterangi Marae is one of four Pirirākau marae in Te Puna, Whakamarama area of Tauranga Moana.
Our wharekai, Mapihiterangi, was built and reopened during 1990.
This year is her 35th birthday! We would like to upgrade the ovens and storage areas which are struggling to meet our needs after years of pumping out delicious kai for our manuhiri. Our Ringa manaaki committee has taken up the challenge.

We hit our target and are still going! 3 August 2025
Thank you so much for your incredibly generous support of our kaupapa, we have reached $11,170 funds raised!
This includes the koha given through this page, cash donations, the bequest of $5,000 that started us off, and extra catering we have done for rōpū staying at our marae.
This givealittle campaign will continue to the end of August so please continue to share it with whānau who may like to tautoko.
Our quotes for the new combi oven are coming in at around $35,000 including installation.
Some whānau have suggested we run a raffle and donations are welcomed for that (a pig and some mahi Toi have been pledged so far).
This week we are submitting a grant application to Lotteries and we will apply to TECT next month.
