Victoria's Fund
Our 5 year old friend Victoria, was recently rushed from Lower Hutt to Christchurch Hospital, to receive treatment for a cancerous brain tumor,- medulloblastoma.
Having immediately received surgery, this now means a lengthy stay at Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland.
With the original tumour which has been removed and the three metastases down her spine, this makes her a high risk patient.
The treatment involves radiotherapy and chemotherapy, is very intense and will take about a year. There are potential difficulties with the treatment impacting on her general health and mental development. Naturally her family will make every endeavour to provide her with the best rehabilitation possible to give her the greatest chance of a normal life as she grows up.
Victoria's mother has had to immediately give up her employment and her father is in the process of trying to balance long distance work, commuting and supporting Victoria while living fulltime in another city.
We wish to be able to relieve some of the financial pressure the family is under due to this very serious situation and for them to be able to fully concentrate on their very vivacious and beautiful only child, Victoria.
We are asking for people to donate to this fund to assist with any welfare needs they may have as a family.
We really appreciate your support. Thank you.
We are friends of the family and Victoria really needs our support at this time.
