Help Viet Hub NZ keep culture alive through cooking, radio, and arts programmes led by and for our vibrant community.
Lower Hutt, Wellington
Viet Hub NZ uplifts Vietnamese, migrant, and low-income families in Lower Hutt through practical, cultural, and creative programs designed & led by the community, for the community.
Our cooking workshops, we teach healthy, budget-friendly meals using seasonal ingredients. They also promote sustainable living through low-waste practices and build confidence through shared meals.
On Hutt City FM, our radio segments share real stories from migrants, parents, and youth, connecting generations and giving voice to experiences often left unheard.
Our Library, once a single shelf, now offers free bilingual books in community hubs across Wellington and Christchurch. Thanks to our partners, it supports early literacy and cultural pride in families.
We’re preparing Vietnamese language classes taught by a former teacher from Vietnam, helping second-generation children reconnect with their roots. With books donated by the Vietnamese Embassy, these classes promote language and intergenerational connection.
Through lion dance, music shows, and edible figurine workshops, our arts programme celebrates heritage and builds youth creativity and leadership.
Our cultural events — Tết, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Viet Festival, attract hundreds and give people space to perform, volunteer, and lead.
We’ve delivered on our promises, now we need your help to continue.
Your donation supports venues, ingredients, radio equipment, and free access for families.
I am the founder and coordinator of Viet Hub NZ, directly overseeing its programmes, operations, and community-led initiatives.
Funds will cover venue hire, ingredients, printing, volunteer support, radio fees, language classes, library operations, and design costs to keep Viet Hub NZ’s cooking, radio, and cultural programmes running for the community.
✨ Echoes of Home: A Musical Journey Across Time ✨ 7 September 2025
On 2 September, we shared an unforgettable evening with Echoes of Home: A Musical Journey Across Time at the Hunter Council Chamber, Victoria University of Wellington.
Through music, dance and storytelling, the performance carried the audience from the innocence of childhood (Once Upon a Time), through resilience and struggle (The Years We Won’t Forget), to hope and unity (Us – Today).
We are deeply grateful to our performers, volunteers and supporters who poured their hearts into the show, and to our audience whose presence made the evening truly special.
This project shows the power of community and cultural exchange, and with your support, we can continue to create more spaces where Vietnamese culture is shared, celebrated and passed on to future generations.
🌿 Stay tuned for our next Echoes of Home performance on 29 November 2025.
