Join Wasp Wipeout, a community campaign protecting NZ’s wildlife & forests from invasive wasps. Donate now to help nature thrive!
Nationwide
Every summer, German/common wasps turn our forests and backyards into danger zones. They attack our native birds, insects, lizards, and honeybees, and they strip precious honeydew from our beech forests, stealing vital food from the species that depend on it.
Wasp Wipeout is a nationwide, community-led campaign to take them on, and win. Together with our partners at Stuff, the Department of Conservation (DOC), and Conservation Volunteers NZ, the Tasman Environmental Trust is mobilising thousands of New Zealanders to take action where it matters most, on the ground.
From Nelson/Tasman and the Marlborough Sounds to Canterbury, Central Otago, Wellington, Auckland, Hawke’s Bay and beyond, your donation helps communities set up bait stations, provides wasp control products, and protects our wildlife this summer.
💚 Every dollar makes a difference. All donations go directly to the Tasman Environmental Trust and are used to buy bait and equipment to expand control operations across Aotearoa.
A Proven Success Story
Born in the Nelson region in 2016, Wasp Wipeout started as a small pilot with support from Stuff, DOC, scientists, and volunteers. It worked, dramatically reducing wasp numbers and restoring balance to local ecosystems. Since then, the movement has spread nationwide.
But wasps are relentless - and so are we. With your help, we can make this the biggest summer yet for wasp control.
Donate today and help us fight back.💚
TET connects people with conservation by offering expertise in protection & restoration of natural environments. We work collaboratively with the community including special interest groups, landowners and businesses in Tasman and Nelson.
Funds will be used to purchase supplies needed in the battle against wasps this summer and into the future.
