Popa Ivan needs water to live let alone fulfill his duties as our only kaumatua. He goes without supply of water for days sometimes weeks.

Northland

Please give a little to do a lot, donate what you can when you can before Christmas and share and promote to help us raise money for Poppa Ivan now 80yrs who desperately needs a permanent supply of water. He needs clean drinking water as it is getting too dangerous at his age for him to live out of hot boiling buckets of water to wash himself. The Main supply of water to his home is continually being cut off for various reasons and leaving him without water for days sometimes weeks. He is that frustrated that he has taken things into his own hands and dragged old pipe by himself to try and link up to create a length of 220 meters to an old broken water pump to get water from his well that is currently contaminated with animal feces and bacteria and has injured himself in the process. If we can just raise some money and come up with a permanent solution it will prevent poppa from getting sick since he is still determined to drink the water in its current state. He is our only Kaumatua who lives in Titoki and needs our help. He has provided countless hours of unpaid service fulfilling his duties as our only Kaumatua and has been deprived of fresh drinking water for days sometimes weeks. He has a serious brain injury and some how still manages to boil water in a pot to wash himself since his shower will not function without running water. He continues to get cut of from the main supply so we need your help to raise money to set up a permanent supply from the well on his property. We will need to remove the surrounding pine from the well and build a cover to protect from further contaminants and purchase a pump that has a 220 meter hose that will lead to a new large tank near his residence. The hose will most likely need to be dug into the ground to prevent it from being stolen like the last one. The water will need to be sterilized and cleaned and a filter will need to be installed to ensure the water is drinkable. We will need a shed to shelter the pump with some big hefty locks since his car, tools, the last hose and other items seem to go walk about from his property ( Have been stolen).

Let us not forget to look after our whanau especially our Kaumatau.

Donations have stopped.  20 November 2019

Since I have been asked to remove the page from Facebook donations have stopped. The page seemed to offend many people because of the negativity it was generating because of the shocking outcome. Many people provided water and not long after my last update Ivan spilt boiling water on his leg and an ambulance rushed out to his aid. He got quite a bad burn but nothing too serious. In the mean time there has been discussions of fundraising but not much action. I am currently in conversation with te puni kokiri and am hoping to get some support from them. I think I am back to square one and may need to look at fundraising options on my own as Ivan and I have not received support that was anticipated by others comments. We don't seem to have the support for this project and will be glade to take any reccomendations or ways to keep moving the program forward.
