We are raising funds to support a solo father's family as he faces terminal cancer.
Dunedin, Otago
Oliver (23) and Maisy (15) lost their mum to cancer six years ago. Now their Dad, David, a librarian and former teacher, who is a lone parent, has been diagnosed with terminal cancer with only weeks or a few months to live. They have received amazing support from friends and colleagues. But they have no other family in NZ to support them.
Any help would be appreciated for living costs: food, rent, bills etc. Also, to allow David's son, Steven to visit from Scotland.
David's a caring person who gives his time freely to anyone who needs his help, loves to write in his spare time, and has a great sense of humour.
I'm a friend and colleague of David.
The money will be spent on the everyday needs, for example food and rent, and educational needs of his children, as well as any special care that David needs. One of his children lives in Scotland and would love to visit his Dad as soon as possible.

Thank you everyone for all your kindness.
Thanks to your donations, Maisy and Oliver were able to follow David's wishes regarding his cremation. The Givealittle account will be transferred into Oliver's name, so that any gifts you wish to give in the next months will go towards David's children.
Some of David's favourite songs were played, as a tribute to him, on the Library's radio show on OAR. https://oar.org.nz/shows/the-library-mix/
