ON NOW - YOUR DONATION WILL BE DOUBLED!

Wellington Samaritans provide a free nationwide helpline. No matter who the caller is or what they're calling about, Samaritans volunteers are ready to listen. We don't put callers on a waiting list or check if they meet a set of criteria, we are there for every caller offering a unique listening service. Anyone can call anonymously and in confidence, to talk about what they're going through.

Samaritans do not receive any Government funding and rely instead on donors and grants from funders to be financially sustainable. This means we have to fundraise to cover our operating costs every year. This Appeal plays a crucial in our ability to continue to offer our helpline. Every dollar pledged helps ensure the helpline stays available.

About us

Samaritans provides a confidential helpline (0800 72 66 66) that anyone can call for any reason - day or night. Our mission is to reduce deaths by suicide. We receive no government funding; donations keep our helpline open! Thank you for your support.

Use of funds

While our helpline is free to call, there are substantial costs associated with running a nationwide helpline. Donations will be spent on essential expenses, including training and recruiting volunteers, phone charges, electricity, insurance & more.
