Samaritans Charity Nationwide Samaritans provide a confidential helpline for anyone in New Zealand who may be feeling lonely, depressed or suicidal.

Last year 606 New Zealanders died by suicide. We know our service can help before it's too late. That's why Samaritans are there to listen to any problem - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Samaritans receive no government funding. It's your donations that keep our phone lines open. The donations we receive help pay the phone charges and other costs involved in running our 24/7 call centre and towards increasing our most valuable resource: trained volunteer listeners.

Thank you for your support. It means so much to Samaritans and most importantly to our callers and their families.
