Samaritans is a confidential telephone counselling service available day & night for people who feel distressed, lonely or suicidal.
Wellington
Samaritans provide a confidential helpline for anyone in New Zealand who may be feeling lonely, depressed or suicidal.
Last year 606 New Zealanders died by suicide. We know our service can help before it's too late. That's why Samaritans are there to listen to any problem - day and night, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Samaritans receive no government funding. It's your donations that keep our phone lines open. The donations we receive help pay the phone charges and other costs involved in running our 24/7 call centre and towards increasing our most valuable resource: trained volunteer listeners.
Thank you for your support. It means so much to Samaritans and most importantly to our callers and their families.
Join us for Wellington's Walk for Mental Health, around Wellingtons iconic Cello Basin Reserve, on Saturday 15th February 2025.
We are raising vital funds for Samaritans Wellington and the Lifting the Lid on Youth Mental Health Project in Wellington.
