Help support my sister Chloe as she battles Steven’s-Johnson Syndrome/TEN. Your contributions will ease their financial burden. Thank you!
Canterbury
Dear friends and family,
I’m reaching out to share that my sister, Chloe, is seriously ill with Steven’s-Johnson Syndrome/TEN, a rare and life-threatening condition that requires extensive medical care. She developed this after starting a new medication.
Chloe was flown to a Perth hospital last Saturday and is currently in an isolated unit receiving round-the-clock care from a team of specialists including nurses, doctors, immunologists, dermatologists, pain relief consultants, dietitians, and ophthalmologists.
We are grateful that my friend Sarra is in Perth to support Chloe, her partner Hayden, and their 17-month-old daughter, Lily. My mum and I are struggling with being far away, especially since Chloe and Hayden have no family in Australia. I am working on getting to Perth, but I’m asking for your help to ease their financial burden during this crisis.
Hayden is taking time off work to care for Lily and support Chloe in the interim but will eventually need to return to work in Kalgoorlie. This means Hayden will have to travel back and forth between the two locations. While we aren't aiming for a specific amount, all funds raised will assist with ensuring Hayden has the means to look after Lily and care for Chloe.
I won’t be posting photos of Chloe but will provide regular written updates. Your support can significantly impact Chloe's recovery, which is likely to be long, and ease their family’s strain.
Every bit helps, we truly appreciate your kindness.
With gratitude,
Jen xx
Chloe is not only my little sister but my best friend. She is an amazing mum, partner and auntie.
The money raised will primarily be used for accommodation in Perth for Hayden and Lily, as they support Chloe during her treatment. Additionally, funds will cover daily living expenses as they navigate travel between Kalgoorlie and Perth.
**UPDATE** 27 May 2025
Dear Family and Friends,
I’m relieved to announce that after a month in the hospital, my sister will be discharged tomorrow! She is doing really well and, while she’s still unwell, she can safely recover from the comfort of her home.
I’ve been with her for a week now, and it really hit hard that I nearly lost her. However, witnessing her strength, resilience, and determination to return home to Lily and Hayden has been truly inspiring. Her skin and eyes are healing well, though she will need to use special eye drops for several years to come.
Chloe is flying back to Kalgoorlie tomorrow and is looking forward to spending some quality time with her family. Please refrain from messaging or calling her, as she’ll reach out in her own time when she’s ready.
Thank you all so much for your support; it really means the world to Chloe, Hayden, and Lily, as well as her extended family.
Much love,
Jen xx
