10 Half Marathons in 10 Weeks to raise money for I AM HOPE, an in-school and community mental health program in New Zealand.

Karaka, Auckland

Hi Team

We have done it! We have successfully completed 10 Half Marathons in 10 Weeks for I AM HOPE, an in-school and community mental health program. A huge thanks to everyone for their support!

While running to keep fit and healthy for my mental health - I have been aiming to raise as much awareness and money as possible for the wonderful work I AM HOPE do in our schools and communities to forever change the way our kids think, act, and feel about mental illness and mental well-being.

I AM HOPE's goal is to promote positive attitudinal societal change around mental health by letting the youth/children and people of New Zealand know, that dealing with the inner critic is something all of us experience every day of our lives, and by normalizing these thoughts and actions, students realize they are not alone and everyone is going through their own journey, thus creating a more caring and empathetic environment.

Please note: These talks are presented for free and all costs are met by I AM HOPE, which is The Key To Life Charitable Trust. The Key To Life Charitable Trust receives no government funding nor do they apply for government funding. All funding comes from sponsorship, corporate partnerships, grants, and public fundraising/donations.

Please note: This page will remain open until the end of August 2022 for any additional donations.

Thank You! We Did It!!  8 August 2022

Hi Team

We did it! All of us together have had a part to play in raising awareness and funds for I AM HOPE and the work they do for mental health in our schools and communities. As I write this, over $4.5k raised! Phenomenal effort from everyone!

Friday, 5th August a crew of us from MediaWorks (Sophie Lawson, Johnathan Schaffer, Amelia MacDiarmid and Dan Dalton) took off from work to St Heliers and back. It was wonderful to finish with friends, family and work colleagues at the end - and I must admit I got a bit emotional in my small but brief speech at the end!

What a ride, great to see smiles on people's faces.

I'll be doing one more update in the coming weeks as I'll be leaving this page open for a few weeks yet.

Warm regards

Sam
