Donate some money towards rasing awareness for and improving mental health
Auckland
The challenge
I will be participating in a significant 200km bike ride, aimed at raising crucial funds and awareness for men's mental health in New Zealand—a country grappling with some of the most alarming mental health statistics globally. The stark reality is that 1 in 8 Kiwi men will confront severe depression at some point. It's plausible that someone you know has or is battling with mental health issues.
My story
Men often face stereotypes that they have to be strong, tough, and can't show emotions. We should break that stigma and highlight that it is okay to be vulnerable. A year ago, life got chaotic, and my mental health took a hit. I was lucky—I realized what was happening and could talk about it openly, starting the path to recovery. Understanding the struggle from my own experience, I’m motivated to help those suffering in silence.
