Many thanks for all the support for Arthritis NZ. Well worth the pain raising money for an excellent cause. It was an interesting marathon. Sections of the track were submerged in water. One part the track was washed out so we all had to do a detour through the main shopping street of Hamilton and had to stop for traffic lights. Took the wrong route for a time as the chalk marks on the track were washed away so I missed a turn. Lot of board walks around the river's edge which were very slippery. Also a number of road crossing so had to wait for traffic. My slowest marathon clocking in at 4 hours and 5 seconds. Still the scenery was great even if it was raining the whole way.
