Fundraising for Brain Tumour Support NZ
Taranaki
The month of May is NZ's Brain Tumour Awareness month, and Oranga Tamariki Taranaki are having a little bit of fun while raising some awareness and donations for Brain Tumour Support NZ.
For those of you who know me, you'll know this is something that’s currently touching my family’s life in a pretty serious way, and we’ve had such incredible support from you all, and from whanau and friends. Couldn’t have done it this far without you❤ The page image is a pic of my handsome hubby from a few years ago; read his story here: https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/tom-parsons-cancer-support-fund
Some people aren’t nearly as lucky as us though, so this is to acknowledge them – those who are walking this really scary journey without as much support, and so therefore rely on the mahi that the amazing people at Brain Tumour Support NZ do – and put in place - for them.
So, on Friday 26th May, we're wearing a beanie or our craziest pōtae to work for the day to keep those precious brains cosy and to raise awareness/extra funds. Setting up this Givealittle page for whatever we raise on the day - and for you, friends or family to donate directly if you can spare a dollar or two (added bonus: they’re a registered Charity).
You might want to purchase a *Brainy Beanie* to wear in May too?? Go on. All of the proceeds of these purchases go directly back to Brain Tumour Support NZ – some real cute ones on their website. Check out the link below…
A massive thanks for your generosity! 12 June 2023
A final note to this page before it closes to say a huge THANKS for your overwhelming generosity - not just to this page, which raised a whopping $487.80 - but also in purchasing Brainy Beanies, direct donations to the Brain Tumour Support NZ account, and for generally *getting amongst it* during NZ's Brain Tumour Awareness month back in May. I know our efforts have been super appreciated by BTSNZ and you should all pat yourselves on the back - what we raised is put directly towards making things just that little bit easier for people whose lives are being impacted in all sorts of ways by a brain tumour diagnosis. Such a worthy cause.
Thanks again, so much. Go well.
