Raise $2000 for ReliefAid to purchase frisbees, skipping ropes, balls, and hula hoops for children in a displacement camps in Syria.

Auckland

Frisbees’, skipping ropes, balls, and hula hoops. We take for granted that these activities are fun. They can also build resilience. By trial and error children learn to pick themselves up and by so doing build inner strength – build resilience. This strength supports education and childrens outlook on life.

We take playing with such things for granted, but for children in the displacement camps of Northwest Syria this is far from their reality. When families fled their homes because of war, they were only able to take essentials. This project is raising funds for ReliefAid to provide freebies, skipping ropes, balls, and hula hoops to children in displacement camps.“Our family yearn for home and the children for their games there".

ReliefAid is an international humanitarian organisation with a vision of saving lives and alleviating suffering of people affected by armed conflict and natural disasters through independent and impartial humanitarian action.ReliefAid has proven experience in Syria – and has successfully provided humanitarian assistance within Syria since 2015.

ReliefAid relies solely on private donations. It does not receive any funding from governmental sources and is a registered charity with the New Zealand Charities Commission.

Your help will be greatly appreciated and will positively impact the children who will benefit.

The toys will soon be on their way to children in camps in Syria  4 February 2021

The team have been out shopping - buying up soccer balls and tactile balls, skipping ropes and hula hoops. Unfortunately, they couldn't source frisbees in Syria. To make the most of the opportunity to build resilience through play.

I have prepared ideas sheets for the parents to use with the children to extend their play.

The team are choosing a camp where children don’t have access to school.

I’ll get back to you when we have some photos of the children receiving the distribution.

This is only happening because of your kindness.

Thanks so miuch.
