Cutting off my dreadlocks to raise money for Kidscan
Auckland
Hi, my name is Chris and I haven't had a haircut since the December 2013.
Now that my university days are over and I have become a productive member of society, it's time for a change.
Time to chop the mop,
To shred my head,
To shear my hair,
Put the dread to bed.
On September 21st will my cutting all my hair off, down to a number 1, and donating it so a wig can be made.
But before then, I would like your help to make it all worth while.
KidsCan exists to meet the physical and nutritional needs of Kiwi kids less fortunate than others so they can be more engaged in their education and have a better chance of reaching their potential in life.
I have chosen to raise money for Kidscan as I have seen the impact they have had on the primary school children my partner teaches and the difference it makes to their day to day lives.
I've committed almost 6 years of my life to my hair, so please commit a few dollars to make it worth my while.
I'm not asking for much, just whatever you can spare in memory of my hair.
So next time you're going to order Uber eats or buy that $11 beer. Just have some baked beans on toast or a double brown and donate a few dollars here to make a difference in a childs life.
More info on Kidscan and how to support them can be found on their website: www.Kidscan.org.nz
Please consider a donation subscription if you can afford it.
Doing what I can to support a great charity helping Kiwi kids
