I am 18 years old.
I was born in Hamilton and lived on a farm in Te Awamutu for the first 5 years of my life.
When I was two years old, I sadly lost my mother Lee Vonne then at five years old, my father Neil passed away. Because of this, I was Whangai (Maori adoption) into my Aunty and Uncles family with my two cousins. The next 8 years of my life flew by. In 2012, I moved to Queensland, Australia with my Aunty. I attended 3 different schools because of the different areas my Aunty worked in.
2 and a half years later, i made a choice to move back to New Zealand with my Uncle and his partner. With the helpful guidance and self belief I managed to regain my NCEA credits, and realized I had the ability and passion to do modelling, which lead me to various photo-shoots including being one of the faces for Youth Pathways Mental-Health.
I completed a semester at Wintec which qualified me to gain a qualification in Hospitality and Barista. This July I will be starting a semester in Business at Wintec.
Amidst doing further studies I then applied for Miss Five Crowns New Zealand 2017. With the motivation and push from my Uncle, I applied for Miss Five Crowns New Zealand because I realized I could inspire other people with my story and this pageant is run by women who also have amazing life stories.
On the 26th March 2017 I attended a interview in Auckland for Miss Five Crowns which soon made me a finalist. I am so excited and looking forward to the rest of my journey with Miss Five Crowns NZ, filled with laughter, joy and commitment as well as meeting other inspiring ypung women who also have a story to tell.
