Drink and Donate to help Gisborne farms recover from Cyclone Gabrielle

Gisborne

Cyclone Gabrielle left a path of destruction as it moved through New Zealand in February. Our East Coast region of Gisborne was just one community badly affected and we quickly saw it effects through our local landscapes and even more closely through our interactions with familiar faces in our Awapuni-based taproom here at Sunshine Brewery. Over the following weeks, we did our best to keep the beer flowing and offer a place of respite, somewhere to come together and share a beer after the recent tragedy. We immediately wanted to do more, and started brainstorming, and with the help of our co-sponsors, Property Brokers, Lallemand, NZ Hops, Label & Litho and Gladfield Malt, we have brewed "Cylone GabriAle." All of the Sunshine Brewery profits made from this beer will be donated to Gisborne Farming Recovery Fund, which has been spearheaded by Matai Medical Research Institute and the donations will all be used to subsidise the cost of repairing local farms. We understand not everyone drinks beer, and there are some beer drinkers that may be looking to help more than just having a pint, and this is why this Give A Little page has been created.
