Doing dry January in memory of my daughter for her 11th birthday
Canterbury
On the 28th of January in 2010 I gave birth to my stillborn daughter Maddison. I was 20 years old, scared and had no idea how to emotionally prepare for the heartbreak that was going to follow. The organisation SANDS offered so much support and made me feel comfortable to speak about my daughter and open up about my experience with other women and couples that had suffered infant loss.
For my daughter’s birthday next month I am going to celebrate by doing a dry January. Those who know me will know this is going to be a huge challenge as I love my wine time. If anyone wants to get on board and join me please do! The subject of infant loss is rarely spoken about and I want to normalise the topic. It doesn’t matter what stage of pregnancy or how or why, a loss is a loss and I want to encourage people to share their stories.
In loving memory of my angel Maddie and all other angel babies. Let’s do this!! ❤️
I want to give back to this organisation that gives support to so many people
