Raise money to donate to KidsCan to make a difference for Kiwi kids
Wellington
At the FFC Racing Team we know there are kids in our community that are not getting a fair crack at the basics in life.
Since riding bikes is what we love to do we are going to ride from Christchurch to Queenstown in order to raise money for Kiwi Kids who will benefit from our support.
To get a direct result for disadvantaged Kiwi Kids every dollar raised we will be donating to KidsCan.
As of today KidsCan supports over 18,000 hungry children a week with food insecurity. Their tangible programmes, Food for Kids, Shoes for Kids, Raincoats for Kids and Health for Kids concentrate on giving the basics directly to children in need in partnership with the schools they attend.
We will be riding 650 Km including 7,000 metres vertical climbing - a little bit of pain for us equals a great outcome for Kiwi kids in need.
FFC racing team is committed to raising as much money as possible to directly benefit Kiwi Kids. Our journey will enable kids through the KidsCan charity to go to school and have the basics provided allowing them to be a kid and learn and become an even greater Kiwi Kid.
Day 5 - hills and more hills 24 March 2016
100 kms Wanaka to Queenstown with a side jaunt up to Coronet Peak. A gentle role through the Cardrona Valley before a surprisingly long and steepening ride to the top of the Crown Range. Quick stop for a photo and refresh before a fast descent down to Arrowtown and a scone and coffee. Great loading for the final climb of the tour to the Coronet Peak carpark. After 4 days of magnificent weather we finally had a patch of rain which made for a cold descent and ride into Queenstown for end of tour celebrations - particularly to celebrate hitting our overall fundraising goal of $150,000. Thank you all for your very kind support for this great cause.
