Our moustaches = support for the Heart Foundation who are leading the fight against New Zealand's single biggest killer - heart disease.
Wellington
Christopher Jagusch would have been 60 this November. Like many other Kiwi men his life was taken short due to a Heart Attack.
We are growing moustaches in a tribute to Chris and to raise money for the New Zealand Heart Foundation who are leading the fight against New Zealand's single biggest killer - heart disease.
There are plenty of things you can do to reduce the likelihood of suffering from cardiovascular disease. The Heart Foundation conducts research into heart disease and provides educational material to help people adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Chris was privileged enough to have access to healthcare and the relevant advice and tools to improve his health. Unfortunately, many others throughout the country who are susceptible to heart disease do not have the same privilege. We hope that our donations to the Heart Foundation will make these resources more accessible.
50% of all funds raised will also go to the Movember Foundation - the Movember movement focuses on mental health, suicide prevention, testicular cancer and prostate cancer. Many of our contributors are long term supporters of Movember.
When you see our ridiculous faces, we hope this leads to a conversation about men's health.
Through this page you can follow our progress as we post regular updates. You can stop by for a laugh or a bit of banter, but we would really appreciate if you are able to contribute to the cause. Anything is appreciated.
At the end of November we will be donating all funds raised to the Heart Foundation and Movember.
A huge thanks to the other gentlemen who are dedicating their moustaches to this important cause.
Almost 1 in 3 deaths in New Zealand are caused by cardiovascular disease. The Heart Foundation provide support, fund research and have education programmes in order to reduce this number.
The Movember Foundation reminds Kiwi blokes to think about health.
