I am participating in a charity fight night to fundraise for Life Matters Suicide Prevention Trust.
Otago
2017 was a very tough time for our whanau, two days after burying our father, two of our nephews committed suicide, one of them had his life support turned off and passed away in my arms. Suicide had never crossed the path of our whanau before this and I hope that it never does again. In the past year 606 people took their own lives, two were my nephews, two were work colleagues and one was a young man I had just started working with to try and help turn his life around. This number is greater than our road toll and still increasing each year.
I promised to my whanau that I would do ANYTHING to stop this from happening again and this is a small part of me taking action.
On November 24 in Dunedin I will take part in the Charity fight night to raise funds for Life Matters Suicide Prevention Trust, for the 606, for my nephews and for all those still needing support. This organization is playing a huge role in our community in making a positive difference. I hope to inspire those who feel like giving up, to keep going, to keep fighting, to reach out and talk.

I am participating in the Pride of the South Charity boxing on November 24, as I lost two nephews to suicide in 2017, this is my way of supporting a worthy cause and hopefully inspire others to keep fighting, to keep going and that others care
