Brave the Shave 👩🏽🦲
Taupo, Waikato
As some of you may know, I lost my Dad to a heart attack just over eight months ago after many years of suffering with heart disease. In his honour, I’m challenging myself to shave my hair to support the Heart Foundation and St John.
Heart disease is New Zealand’s number 1 killer. Every 90 minutes, one New Zealander dies from Cardiovascular Disease. That’s 16 lives lost every day. I want to support research and specialist cardiologist training carried out by the Heart Foundation, to help people like my Dad.
As for St John, I’m sure we are all aware of the amazing work that they do, despite their lack of government funding. St John were the first ones to arrive when my Dad had his heart attack and they worked on him tirelessly for over an hour to try bring him back to us. Obviously they were unsuccessful, but I know for a fact that they tried their absolute best. Our whānau could not thank them enough for all that they did that night. I want to support St John so they can keep helping families like mine.
I have set myself the goal to shave my hair on 2nd February 2022 and my donation goal is $1000.
Any donations are much appreciated, no matter how big or small. Thank you for your generosity 😊
