Foster Hope for the holidays

Kia ora friends,

The holiday season is a hard time for many people and many reasons. For children separated from their families in foster care, the holidays can be a particularly lonely time, as many of these vulnerable children arrive at their new placements with nothing but the clothes on their back.

I wanted to humbly put the call out to the community this holiday season to help raise funds to donate to Foster Hope, an amazing organization that makes up backpacks filled with toiletries (such as toothpaste, shampoo, soap, etc), along with special items just for them (like books and soft toys).

These backpacks bring a little hope into what is a very stressful time in their life, and for many of these children, it can be the very first time they have received items that they can call their own.

Every child in care deserves to know that their community cares about them, and each dollar donated on this will go towards bringing some hope and joy for dear children in our country who have no one.
