Foster Hope

There are over 6,000 children in care in NZ. Are you aware that many children arrive at their new placements with nothing but the clothes on their backs or with their belongings in a black rubbish sack?

Let’s change this!

We want these children to know that someone out there cares about them. No child should be made to feel like their belongings are “rubbish” and Caregivers should be able to focus on the emotional needs when a child arrives, rather than having to run around doing last minute/late night shopping.

$40 is what is costs to make up a kit to be given to a child when they are removed from their homes, with a backpack and a carry all bag containing hygiene products (toothpaste, shampoo etc) and some items that will show them they are loved (books, soft toys etc) so we need your help!

We’re excited that you can join us as we undertake this journey to change the lives of many children currently in foster care.

We are also fundraising to cover the $370 cost for a foster child to go on a YMCA holiday camp. This is a 5 night and 6 day camp where the kids have a load of fun. We will start by offering the camp to children being raised by their grandparents as this is a win win. The child has the best time ever and the grandparents get a much needed break.
