Franc's running Round the Bays 2021 Half Marathon for Women’s Refuge

I'm running the Wellington Round the Bays Half Marathon this year to raise money for Women’s Refuge. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and donate to a great cause, I really appreciate your support.

NZ not only has the highest rate of domestic violence in the world but we are also in the midst of a global pandemic. This means extra pressure, less options to gain freedom and greater financial constraints (to name just a few challenges); which makes getting out of a difficult and dangerous situation even harder. During the lockdown period women were more at risk than ever.

This is for the strong and courageous women who have survived, are surviving and are being brave in facing the dark times behind closed doors. It's also for those that didn't make it out alive.

I hope that the money raised from this event will enable a woman/family to take the difficult steps to be free of abuse and help them on the road to a safe and full life for them and their children.
