Participating in Clash for Construction 2023
Auckland
Having moved here from the UK in January my employer enlisted me on a 'mates' course. This was the sort of course I'd usually think I wouldn't get much out of as I have heard it all before throughout my career. It was therefore a surprise for me to come out of the course with a feeling of wanting to do more. The guys who present the course are so passionate about what they do and do such a great job in engaging with their audience. Mates have identified that there is a real problem within the construction industry regarding mental health and want to make a change. Just in the short time that the course was delivered to me I could see how this was possible. I have been in the industry for 11 years and witnessed first hand the effects of mental health so to know that someone like these guys exist gives me the utmost comfort. In order to continue to provide this amazing support, these guys need as much support as possible which is my reason for participating in the boxing event on 16th September. To both show my gratitude to them and also help in anyway I can. Thank you for your support
