Graeme Dingle Foundation's - PROJECT K Program Otumoetai College, Tauranga

$410 donated
Given by 10 generous donors in around 3 months

The purpose is to help fund an important program for youth and to demonstrate that through the power of your mind you can overcome the odds.

Bay of Plenty

Project K is a college program for Year 10 youth to help them build self esteem and create goals for today and their future. This Bay of Plenty program is run by Dan Allen-Gordon who has been dedicated to youth in the area for many years. The students come away from the experience more confident about who they are and what they want to achieve in school.

I am a college teacher from Otumoetai College, a former sports coach and father of three, all of whom have grown up in Tauranga.

This is my third cycle trip to raise money for the Graeme Dingle Foundation BOP Project K program. This cycle ride will be covering 533 kilometres around Coromandel. I will be starting from Mount Maunganui, turning around at the northern most point of Port Jackson Campground and returning through Whangamata and back to Mount Maunganui.

Day 4- Final Day  30 April 2021

Hello everyone.

I made it home last night. A very long day.

176km. 10 hours of riding. Multiple long hills and got

caught out at the end with the fall of darkness once

reaching Te Puna.

The journey all together was 545km. With very long hills, such as highway 25 over to Thames or highway 25 leaving Coromandel are mammoth hills on a bike and testing of one's character. I loved it! Power of the mind to overcome difficult situations.

I was fortunate with considerate drivers, who gave me room and tooted encouragement. Truck drivers were cautious, and boy, did I feel small as they slowly passed on an uphill climb!

Finally, a big THANK YOU to YOU for your support for a great cause. The Project K kids are an inspiration to me, who have to get through school with difficult challenges at home. This program teaches them to learn how to dig deep and overcome their personal challenges in life and make somethin of themselves. A very successful program.

$360 raised so far and this drive goes until the end of May, so please spread the word!

Thank you for your support!

James

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause. As a former Projeck K student I can vouch this program is the best program for youth development out there! It helped me believe in myself and as a result I now carry that through everything that I am faced throughout life, 12 years later I am still continuing the positive journey🙏
