Gumboot Friday at Arrowtown Backyard Ultra

    We are at it again. This Thursday Team Gump Ultra are off to Dead Cow Gully in Queensland Aust to compete in the DCG Masters, a last runner standing backyard ultra.

    Since the last event in Nov, we have logged 269 hours, 2443 kms of training over 279 activities leading up Deadcow. We aim to leave it all out there and keep on running "just one more".

    Over 30 of the worlds best will be there to break the world record of 777km over 116 hours.

    Crew Chief Bazza, nutritionist and spiritual advisor JD and coach Emma will make sure everything is in place for me to run further than ever before.

    How far can we go ? Let us see as there are no limits to what we incredible humans can do.

    Set yourself a big goal and take action towards it, you will learn and grow along the way. Hard work, a great team around you and a positive mindset can achieve seemingly impossible things!

    Please help us achieve our fundraising goal to support NZ Youth in Need through "I Am Hope".

  • Breaking Down Barriers

    Thank you again for your generous support for Gumboot Friday at Arrowtown Backyard Ultra. We've raised an amazing $7526 for NZ youth. As planned we ran long at Arrowtown completing 33 loops or 221.63km. Tried to get in 34 but timed out, took 1 hour 15 to get back. Eclipsed previous best of 26 and made top 5. in event, moved into top 500 in the world and top 40 in NZ. Team Gump all delivered so we could push to the limit. Great to see mates Josh and Hadani go even longer to 44 and 37 respectively and new friend Paul win with 45 and Tom complete 34. Fantastic support from you guys, people at course, on course and from afar. The page is open until end of Nov if you want to spread the word. Thanks again!

  • Arrived Safely in Arrowtown

    We are here. Raining all day but stopped late pm. We are registered, watered and fed. Overcast with a bit of Sun so could be humid tomorrow. Smashed potatoes and Mac n cheese for dinner. A good nights sleep ahead will set things up nicely to go long at the Arrowtown Backyard Ultra.

    Thanks to the very generous donations from you all, the initial target has been hit !

    In the spirit of backyard ultra, we will reassess and go for just one more ! There are 6.7kms for each loop , let's set $6700 as the new target!
