Running long at the Arrowtown Backyard Ultra to raise money for NZ Youth with Gumboot Friday, Ravensdown and "I Am Hope".
Canterbury
Fundraise for Gumboot Friday at the 2024 Arrowtown Backyard Ultra on 9th November 2024.
I am proud to work at Ravensdown who are fundraising for Gumboot Friday.
We have trained all year for this event: 402 hours, 368 activities and 3662km. Crew Chief Bazza, Nutritionist Tony and Waterboy / Spiritual Advisor JD will support runner Chad to run further than before ! There will be dark places but we will tackle the challenges head on as a team.
With your help Ravensdown will raise money for youth in need of support by participating in Gumboot Friday with I am Hope.
One photo is NZs BYU Champion Sam Harvey with me in Arrowtown last year. Sam is a big supporter of "I am Hope".
In a backyard ultra you run 6.7km within the hour and keep going until you can do no more. Last year we did 24 hours or 160kms. Let's Do this ! Can we beat last years effort ? Can we do just one more ! Can we keep doing just one more ? How long can we keep doing just one more ?
"I Am Hope" at Dead Cow Gully 21 June 2025 16 June 2025
Hi friends/family/colleagues,
https://givealittle.co.nz/fundraiser/i-am-hope-at-dead-cow
We are at it again. This Thursday Team Gump Ultra are off to Dead Cow Gully in Queensland Aust to compete in the DCG Masters, a last runner standing backyard ultra.
Since the last event in Nov, we have logged 269 hours, 2443 kms of training over 279 activities leading up Deadcow. We aim to leave it all out there and keep on running "just one more".
Over 30 of the worlds best will be there to break the world record of 777km over 116 hours.
Crew Chief Bazza, nutritionist and spiritual advisor JD and coach Emma will make sure everything is in place for me to run further than ever before.
How far can we go ? Let us see as there are no limits to what we incredible humans can do.
Set yourself a big goal and take action towards it, you will learn and grow along the way. Hard work, a great team around you and a positive mindset can achieve seemingly impossible things!
Please help us achieve our fundraising goal to support NZ Youth in Need through "I Am Hope".
Thanks Antoine, the Belgium team are world champs so we are all chasing them to figure out how to just keep on running! Very pleased to have you help this awesome cause!
