Gus' Givealittle for Starship ward 27

Gus my gorgeous 15 year old, was diagnosed with Cancer back in November 2021 (Ewings Sarcoma - 7cm tumour on his spine) We are lucky to live in Auckland and have this amazing facility called Starship a mere 20 minute drive away. We are incredibly grateful for the fantastic care he has had throughout this battle.

Ward 27 A & B, are the Oncology wards, A is the day stay & B is the ward. We have spent far too much time in both.

After Consulting with the Starship Foundation on what is needed in 27 (there is so much!) Firstly they are wanting 2 lazy boy chairs for the adolescent waiting area in the day stay, these are so the teenagers can have infusions in a comfy chair. These chairs are $1700 each. Perhaps we could get enough for another couple of chairs too, for the caregivers - many parents spend long 10-12 hour days sitting in very uncomfortable chairs. The table & chairs in the family kitchen are industrial and unwelcoming, perhaps we could replace those. There is so much needed, to make the journey that tiny bit better for future families - I have just added some photos of some of the furniture that desperately needs replacing.

The Starship Foundation has agreed that all donations made in Gus' name will be used for what we are fundraising for.
