A group of Otago University men shaving our hair 'Because We Care' about mens mental health.
Dunedin, Otago
Mental health, especially in our age group, is something we see our mates struggle with every day. A lot of the time it feels as if they are alone in their battle. As a group of male students in our University career, we understand the issue cannot be solved overnight, but want to raise awareness and do our bit.
Mental health issues have touched us all, whether directly or indirectly, and the consequences have effected us and the people around us. Watching a mate struggle is not something anyone wants, especially if you are struggling yourself. As such, we have decided to shave our 'Dunners' mops to raise money for the New Zealand Mental Health Foundation, a charity working towards developing tools and support to build and sustain positive wellbeing for all Kiwis.
Any support would be enormously appreciated; no matter how big or small it makes a difference. The top four donators will get to either shave the hair themselves, or can send a haircut of their choice to be recreated on the 15th of July.
Much love,
John-Ross, Zach, Jai and Cillian.
