Cutting my hair for ending homelessness

Hi,

my name is Dora and I've been living in NZ for 4 years.

Coincidentally, this is also the last time I cut my hair: my thick, curly and red-blonde hair is now reaching my lower back, and definitely needs a trim.

I always wanted to donate my hair for a good cause, and the amazing hairdressing team at Forever Young (https://www.foreveryounghair.co.nz) can help with sending the cut chunk to a wig making charity.

In honour of my hair cut, I would like to raise money and awareness for DCM (Downtown Community Ministry https://www.dcm.org.nz), whose vision is to end homelessness in Wellington. Their amazing team helps homeless people find accommodation, jobs and re-regain independence.

Especially during this period of lockdown/rāhui I realised how privileged my family and I are for having a warm roof over our heads, good food on the table and a job that helps to pay for it all. Staying home was an easy task for us, but it must have been an awful situation for the less fortunate who don't have anywhere to go.
