Half Marathon Fundraiser for the Women’s Refuge

UPDATED: This year I’ve registered for the Auckland Half Marathon as a fundraiser for the Women’s Refuge. I’m aiming to raise $1000 from friends/family/colleagues and will match this up to $1000 through my own private practice (Skill Builders SLT) to top up the amount, so hopefully I’ll get to $2000.

The Women’s Refuge is New Zealand’s largest nation-wide organisation that supports and helps women and children experiencing family violence. As someone who is surrounded by strong, independent women (family, friends, and colleagues) and an uncle to two beautiful nieces, it’s devastating to think that 24% of New Zealand women have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV) offences during their lifetimes*.
