Thank you so much for all of your support for Vickie since this page was opened.

Vickie's medication has sadly stopped working and she has been taken off treatment. This is obviously devastating news for the family and the tumours have grown significantly in the short time since the treatment stopped.

The family are seeking all alternatives and looking for medical trials but we wanted to update all those who have so kindly donated. It is hoped that Vickie will still be able to live a full and happy life for the remainder of her time. There is no prognosis due to the uncertainty of her condition but without treatment time will be shorter than it should be.

There are still funds available that have not yet been spent on medication and these will be used for alternative treatment options (unknown at this stage), making some small dreams come true or supporting the family in general as they navigate this uncertain time. Ryan and Ruby certainly will need all the help they can get in the future and we are so appreciative for all of your donations.

We are of course happy if anyone has any questions or would prefer that their funds were not used in this way. We welcome contact directly via Give a Little Q&A here https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/hearts-and-funds-for-vickie/questions.

Thank you once again and we are so grateful for the support and generosity for this family

Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Heart Surf Event that took place just over a week ago. The response to the event and the event itself has been mind blowing and has taken time to comprehend.

It was without doubt one of the best weekends - the community, the surfing, the fun and of course the amount raised. Our wildest dreams could not have imagined a better outcome in every respect. We are grateful for each and every donation and we wish we could thank each donor personally. As some wish to remain anonymous we respect that but please know that our thanks goes to each of you and we have read every message.

You have changed three lives - thank you.

We are extending the pages as there are further fundraising events planned.

We also hope to advocate for those in a similar position to us and for Melanoma New Zealand who do so much for this misunderstood cancer.
