We walk beside all people affected by dementia mate wareware.

We want to enable people with dementia mate wareware to have a dignified and fulfilling life. Everyone’s story is different. Every family is affected in different ways.

We know that the dementia journey can be challenging, and people may experience feelings of stress, distress, or have trouble adjusting to their condition. Having access to support is a challenge for our rural communities. Travelling distance to towns, access to public transport and inadequate links to other service providers are all a barrier to receiving adequate dementia support. Our community is not getting the support they need. Together we can strive for a positive journey and keep up with the increasing number of people being diagnosed with dementia.

Our Community Advisor team takes the support to clients directly. We provide information and education to enhance greater understanding of a dementia diagnosis, as well as support people to live well and plan for the future. Importantly we also support family, friends and whanau, to cope with these caring demands.

Dementia does not only affect those diagnosed with dementia but has a ripple effect on at least four other people around them; Husbands, wives, partners, children, and friends.
