She helped save my husband's life. Now we're fighting for her.

Two and a half years ago, my dear friend Lily Winkler helped save my husband's life. When Barry suffered a stroke, Lily helped me get him to the hospital in time for life-saving treatment. Because of her quick thinking and support Barry was given a second chance.

Just weeks later, Lily herself suffered a stroke while at work. While my husband was able to recover well, Lily's journey has been far more difficult. She continues to live with aphasia and significant physical challenges that affect her communication, mobility, and independence.

Despite ongoing rehabilitation here in New Zealand, her progress has plateaued. Lily now has the opportunity to attend an intensive program at the Institute for Neurological Recovery in Florida. This specialized neurological rehabilitation offers therapies not currently available to her locally and focus specifically on long-term stroke recovery and neuroplasticity.

We are raising funds to help cover:

- the rehabilitation program

- international travel

-accomodation and living costs during treatment in Florida

Lily gave our family a miracle when we needed it most. Now we are asking for help to give her the best possible chance at further recovery.
