Fundraising for Help me to reach my home - His Eyes Still Look for Me

Auckland

It’s been over a year since I last held my dog, Scooby. He’s a 4-year-old bundle of love and loyalty who has been with me through some of the most important chapters of my life. Leaving him behind in Canada wasn’t a choice I wanted to make — it was something I had to do because of financial constraints. Not a day has gone by that I haven’t missed him deeply, every day apart is a reminder of how incomplete life feels without him.

Scooby isn’t just a pet — he’s family. He’s my best friend, my constant, and the one who has always been there through every high and low. I know he’s still waiting for me, not understanding why I left, and it breaks my heart every time I think about it.

I’ve worked hard to try and save enough to bring him here, but the cost of international relocation for pets is overwhelming — flights, vet checks, quarantine, and paperwork add up quickly. I’m asking for help because I can’t do it alone anymore. This isn't just about a journey across continents — it's about reuniting with a piece of my heart.

Bringing him from Canada to New Zealand has proven far more expensive than I ever imagined, and due to financial hardships, I haven't been able to reunite with him yet.

This separation has taken an emotional toll. He doesn't understand why I'm gone, and I feel the ache of that absence every day.

If there's any way you can help — through support, sharing this story, or even a kind word — it brings us one step closer to being whole again.
