Every year thousands of people are bereaved and injured in road crashes. Support Brake to help affected families recover.

Nationwide

We want anyone who is bereaved or seriously injured in a road crash to have access to support that helps them to recover and go on to live happy and healthy lives into the future.

Hundreds of families each year are bereaved in road crashes across Aotearoa, and thousands more suffer serious injuries. These people deserve support in the days and weeks following a crash, including emotional support to help them work through what has happened, and information to help them navigate the investigations and other practical issues that often follow a crash.

Brake (www.brake.org.nz) is a national road safety charity that works to prevent road deaths and injuries, make communities safer, and provide free support to people affected by crashes.

We are there to provide support to affected families, providing hundreds of free emotional support and practical information resources each year.

A huge thank you!  23 November 2023

Thank you so much to all of you who supported our crowdfunding campaign! We raised a total of $1,380. To give you an idea of how it will help us have more impact, it can provide:

- 138 bereaved children with a support book; or

- 55 families with a pack of support resources for adults and children; or

- 68 schools and childcare centres with resources to help them teach road safety.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform.
