Lisa's chance to give a little back. Ronald McDonald House South Island were there for us in our time of need, now it's our turn.

Canterbury

13 years ago our daughter Lisa underwent surgery to remove a brain tumour. Lisa and I were flown to Christchurch not knowing what was in store for us, while dad stayed at home to look after Lisa's brothers and sister. Fortunately Ronald McDonald House was there to accommodate me while Lisa was in Hospital in the lead up to surgery and when she was allowed out it was a lovely safe, quiet place to come to. Ronald McDonald was there for Lisa and our family for all subsequent hospital check ups. Hundreds of families from all around the South Island have had the help of this amazing house when needed and the voluntary help from the community is amazing.

I don't know what we would have done without the help of Ronald McDonald House South Island.

This is Lisa's way of giving back.

Our little Super Star is doing really well. He's still having ongoing appointments with the physio, speech therapist and the optometrist. Edison has to wear an eye patch for an hour a day to strengthen his right eye now. He Hates it of course lol, but we try and keep him busy and distracted. Edison is very determined to stand but we aren't allowed to encourage it because he needs to sit first. His big sister adores him and makes him laugh all the time. All in all he is one amazing happy little boy and we couldn't be more proud of him.

We would like to thank my mum who started our give a little page. It's been a huge help and we appreciate it so much. To everyone who donated, it's really meant a lot to us and we want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, words alone can not express how grateful we are. Thank you all so very much, Lisa, Maikara, Lilyana and Edison Deer xx
