Nationwide
We want to see disabled youth become confident, active and valued members of our community.
For some, living with a disability can mean social isolation and exclusion, lack of opportunities, a heavy reliance on immediate family networks, and low self-worth or self-esteem. Through lockdowns and the current cost-of-living crisis, the need for genuine and worthwhile social and physical engagement has never been greater.
Recreate programmes create and foster friendships, and provide a safe, inclusive space for our youth. We believe in promoting healthy lifestyles and staying active.
We believe learning continues after leaving school, so we offer a range of life skills and MOXIE (Meaningful Opportunities Crossing Into Employment) placements to help our rangatahi in their personal journeys. These programmes engage with the wider community, with an invitation to better understand neurodiversity. In doing so, we are increasing participation and inclusion for our youth.
Recreate programmes also offer hugely valuable respite for families and we are honoured to be entrusted with their wonderful young people.
Recreate NZ is not immune to the financial challenges experienced by many at the moment. If you are able to, please consider donating to our cause so that we can offer more quality programmes for our awesome community.
Together, we can make more ‘life-changing experiences for youth with disabilities’.
We are thrilled to work with The Funding Network, in an effort to make more 'life-changing experiences for youth with disabilities'.
