New Zealanders, please join us in supporting the RSA.
Nationwide
Kiwis are accustomed to seeing poppies adorned by all passers-by in the streets during the
month of April and in the lead up to Anzac Day services. H, however we will not see that this
month while we are on lockdown, and the RSA loses a vital opportunity to fundraise for their
services, which reach more than 400,000 New Zealanders.
Following the RSA’s hard call to postpone the national Poppy Day Appeal and cancel Anzac
Day services, Perpetual Guardianwe wants to provide an opportunity for all New Zealanders to
show their support and help hour heroes by contributing to this ‘Let’s not Forget’ campaign.
Thisis campaign provides New Zealanders with a platform to honour our veterans and active
military, preserving a deep part of New Zealand’s history while people are unable to come
together for events or fundraise face-to-face due to the lockdown.
New Zealand, with the rest of the world, is living through a moment in history. As New Zealand
beds in a nationwide lockdown to break the chain and save lives, the government has advised
that NZ Police will receive support from Defence Force personnel in order to keep Kiwis safe
during the lockdown period.
Perpetual Guardian is contributing $25,000 and donations will go to the RSA to fund its critical
work to support our veterans, the oldest of whom will be among the most vulnerable to the
effects of COVID-19.
The RSA is pleased to be working with Perpetual Guardian on the ‘Let’s not Forget’ campaign
and thank Kiwis in advance for any support they can give. Our service people and their whanau
have sacrificed so much for New Zealand, to protect our way of life – this campaign is a way we
can give back and thank them.
Let’s Not Forget is about raising much-needed funds for our service people, young and older,
active and retired, at a time when the usual fundraising channels for the RSA’s work must be
temporarily closed.
Less than a week until Anzac Day! 22 April 2020
It’s incredible to see so many of you help raise funds for the RSA. Over 1500 generous New Zealanders have already donated to support our military personnel, the oldest of whom will be among the most vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19.
Let’s not forget all they have done and continue to do for us. The money raised by this campaign will help the RSA’s incredibly dedicated team of professionals, and devoted volunteers, continue their work in the 183 local RSA premises across the country.
If you would like to help further, you can share the Givealittle page, or add the Let’s Not Forget frame to your Facebook profile picture here: https://gal.to/anzacfb
