Support families in the community

It Takes a Village Hub is a Canterbury based charity that support tamariki and their whanau from birth to age 5. Two passionate ladies run this charity with a little help from our friends, we provide essential items by way of a baby and/or toddler bundle.

The past financial year has shown that it really does take a village to raise a child - applications have nearly tripled compared to the previous year (736 last year - that's 2 bundles every DAY). At It Takes a Village Hub, we know that it is only going to get worse before it gets better - with high living costs and the lasting effects of covid, more families are finding they need a little extra help!

Our free bundles program is the very core of the service we provide to families, through these applications we very quickly identified that the items we get requests for the most, are also the items we get donated the least. This means bundles will go without fresh cot or single bedding, feeding items, nappies and wipes. These are the bare essentials. A bundle contains clothes, bedding, nappies, wipes, toys, books, shoes, feeding items, toiletries, and much more.

Through this crowdfunding campaign we (Dani and Jess) hope to raise $3,000 to allow us to create a solid supply of the material items for the families that ask us for help and provide a safe place for whanau to access support. We can’t do this by ourselves, we need your help.
