Jo's going to run 12km for charity

$229 of $150 goal
Given by 8 generous donors in around 3 months

As part of our charity fundraising, Jo's going to take part in the Surf to City, running 12km from Oreti Beach to Queen's Park.

Southland

The No. 8 Wire Mongol Rally team are three friends from Invercargill, New Zealand. We're planning to take on one of the most epic adventures in 2016: driving a car the size of a tin can across two continents, much of which don't really have what we think of as roads.

As well as being a story for the ages, we're doing this to raise money for charity: for Cool Earth, the SPCA and the Red Cross.

This journey is likely to be a physically arduous task, so in preparation for the likely event of having to push our car over a mountain range, we decided to include taking part in the Surf to City as one of our charity fundraisers. None of us are currently in peak physical condition, so your moral support and financial contributions will be a great incentive to get us across the line.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
