Starting to feel a little nervous now...  19 June 2017

The end is nigh!

Wow, what a journey. For weeks now, we've been squeezing in three practices a week on top of our Saturday sessions. Dancing for the audience (a whiteboard with a smiley face on it), over and over and over again... forgetting our moves... laughing uproariously when we get all out of sync while hopping around the room... and my favourite part, rewarding ourselves with "hydration" at Fiddlesticks afterwards. It's got to the point where they know my name and are pouring my drink before I've uttered a word.

The Saturday sessions moved out to North New Brighton. There's something so energising about dancing next to the ocean! Though I'm not nearly so elegant as the waves, the view out over them lifts my spirits after each of my innumerable screw ups.

And now, it's all wrapping up. Tomorrow evening is dress rehearsal, and Thursday it's all on!

Thanks to all those who've supported me, on my givealittle page, buying raffle tickets, or with kind words of encouragement when I needed them. And especially to the lass who pours my wine. Keep them coming, I'm quaking in my suede-soled sandals!

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
