Nationwide
There are fewer Maui dophins than there are Kakapo in NZ, unfortunately most NZers are unaware of this, by doing this walk for Hector's and Maui Dophins we wish to raise peoples awareness and help bump up the numbers of these wonderful creatures.
We love the Hector's dolphin which lives around NZ, however they are nearly extinct - we have decided to join Aescleah and the rest of the crew who are doing the Walk For Hector's. We will be making metal Hector's Dophin keyrings to sell. The money raised, will go towards the Walk For Hector's.
Walk Complete 14 March 2010
Hey guys we just finished the walk last Saturday we had good weather, but it was sad that?we clouds and rain on the second day. I don't think anybody got blisters, which is good. The food was brilliant thanks to Sophie who was the cook and host on night two, and to?Tony for his wonderful BBQ. At the end of day two, we were lucky enough to go out Dolphin hunting, in?Paul's boat. We saw two they were about 100m away. After that?we went to Akaroa for the opening of?Sea Week. There was a good turn out.?The most people stayed around for the auction, most item?were sold which?is good.?So thanks Akaroa and all supporters.?
