Whanake Youth provides a safe place for rangatahi in Nelson and Motueka to learn to believe in themselves. Be part of the solution!
Nelson / Tasman
We wholeheartedly believe that all rangatahi deserve to feel like they belong, to be happy and to be hopeful.
We received a message from over 3000 rangatahi saying they needed services to support them through health, family stuff, relationships, school challenges, getting a job or being sad or lonely.
Young people are still recovering from the effects of isolation from covid, the recent flooding in Nelson, are worrying about their families and concerned that they do not have enough food to eat. This is a heavy burden for anyone, let alone a young person. This is the time of their lives when they should be able to have fun, play and experience new learnings, rather than struggle with depression, anxiety, and loneliness. At Whanake Youth we want young people to not only feel ok, but to thrive and be hopeful!
Whanake Youth is all about supporting young people in Nelson, Stoke and Motueka to believe in the very best of themselves. How we do this is different for every young person, it might be through camps, or 1:1 mentoring over a coffee or a walk on the beach or creating opportunities for young people to connect with their peers by playing basketball, cooking and eating kai! Additionally, our nurses provide youth friendly health and wellbeing services at school or home.
Help us to continue our important work of supporting Nelson, Stoke and Motueka rangatahi by making a donation to our Give a Little campaign.
