Make male mental health a priority in Franklin with more counselling for men and boys

Franklin Family Support empowers our community through a range of wrap-around services. We believe that if you are seeking mental health support through counselling you should be able to access this without worrying about the financial implications. We have a team of counsellors, based in our Pukekohe office, who see on average 60 clients a week ranging in age from 3 to 85, 30% who are male.

We want to provide more opportunities for men and boys who need counselling. New Zealand’s suicide rates are the second highest in the OECD, with males being nearly three times more likely than females to commit suicide. For our Māori whānau these statistics are even worse. Counselling at the right time can save lives.

Although we get some funding from the government, it covers less than a quarter of the current community need so your donation will allow us to offer more counselling sessions to our men and boys.
