Help provide counselling for men and boys so they can improve their mental health and wellbeing.
Franklin Family Support empowers our community through a range of wrap-around services. We believe that if you are seeking mental health support through counselling you should be able to access this without worrying about the financial implications. We have a team of counsellors, based in our Pukekohe office, who see on average 60 clients a week ranging in age from 3 to 85, 30% who are male.
We want to provide more opportunities for men and boys who need counselling. New Zealand’s suicide rates are the second highest in the OECD, with males being nearly three times more likely than females to commit suicide. For our Māori whānau these statistics are even worse. Counselling at the right time can save lives.
Although we get some funding from the government, it covers less than a quarter of the current community need so your donation will allow us to offer more counselling sessions to our men and boys.
Make a donation today so we can make men's mental health a priority in Franklin.
Thank you to all our sponsors!! 21 November 2023
A big ngaa mihi to everyone who was able to donate for our counselling fundraiser. We raised $1770 which is enough to support 11 counselling sessions for adults and 15 for children. All money raised goes directly to support our service!
Thanks Louise for supporting our great cause. $60 will provide a free counselling session for a child or young person in our area.
Thanks Sue! You generous donation will provide a free counselling session to a young person or child.
