I am going to shave my head to be made into wigs for cancer patients.
Waikato
Hello, my name is Yulia, I am 10 years old and live in Cambridge, New Zealand.
Did you know that 300 000 kids worldwide are diagnosed with cancer annually? Every week, at least three Kiwi kids are diagnosed with cancer. They say there nothing we can do about that, but I think they are wrong.
I wanted to do something to help kids with cancer for a long time and I found a way that could help.
I decided to shave my head and donate the hair to Freedom Hair to be made into wigs for patients after treatment. I hope that this will help with their self-esteem and confidence.
My goal is to raise at least $1,000 in this fundraiser by the end of January 2020 and donate it to the Child Cancer Foundation.
I hope that all of you who care, will get behind me in this and donate.
Any amount will be much appreciated and every dollar will help a child in need!
Thank you
Yulia
I want to shave my hair and raise funds to help kids with cancer.
I did it! 14 January 2020
The day finally came for my appointment at the hairdresser. I was nervous but happy! I had my mum and dad with me and a lot of friends and schoolmates to support me.
It didn't take long for the lady to cut the hair and in no time it was all gone! I was a bit disappointed when the lady said that my hair was to fine to be donated but I was overwhelmed by the support and encouragements I received.
I wish to thank every one of you for your kindness and support and your kind donations!
