Paul is doing a crazy thing to raise awareness and money for a great cause.
Timaru, Canterbury
This March I am going to run/walk/crawl up and down the Zig Zag in Timaru until I have clocked up the equivalent height of Mount Everest.
The details:
Height of Mt Everest = 8,849m
Height per lap of the Zig Zag = 30m
Length of one lap of the Zig Zag (up and down) = 640m
Total laps needed = 295
Total distance that will be travelled = 188.8km
I'm doing this to raise awareness and funds for charity group The Speed Freaks - Running for recovery.
Speed Freaks Trust has been delivering running and walking programmes in support of recovery since 2021.
Addiction and mental distress may impact our lives or those of the people we love. The understanding of the running community has been foundational in supporting our mahi and growing #speedfreaksmagic.
The Speed Freaks kaupapa invites community to be part of a recovery journey, supporting individuals, their whānau and local community.
Our programme outcomes; increased health and wellbeing, participation and inclusion, connection to community and paying it forward. With a few kms, events and finish lines along the way.
Please help me to help secure some funds to get The Speed Freaks set up in Timaru.
Push it out 11 March 2024
We're not quite at the target yet so I'm pushing our the ene date.
