Perpetual Guardian is donating $5000 to MentorED in lieu of Christmas Gifts for Clients. Our contribution will hopefully make a real difference, but we wanted to go bigger!
We invite other donors and businesses to donate and we will match every dollar donated up to the value of $5,000 so we can all make a bigger impact.
MentorED supports children who have experienced early childhood trauma. A team of 30 volunteer Mentors and a trained Therapy Dog provide weekly sessions of engaging, fun activities which will help these students by improving their self esteem and engagement with school.
They also provides funding and gear so that these kids get to attend their primary school camp which can sometimes be their only opportunity to take a trip outside of their immediate community.
Rocco the Therapy Dog provides a calming, sensory presence to kids and an opportunity to talk about feelings. He also helps with school attendance and the Trust runs a very popular Reading with Rocco programme.

This year, in the lead up to Christmas, we asked our staff to choose one of the causes most heavily hit by the disruption that 2020 has brought. The voting was unanimous and so in lieu of client gifts, Perpetual Guardian will donate to three worthy causes, all of which have a focus on supporting mental health and wellbeing in our communities.
